Yes — Breezeline allows customer-owned modems and publishes its own approved-device list. It names devices including Netgear CM3000 and Netgear CM1000v2. Your device must meet at least DOCSIS 3.1. Your equipment has to satisfy Breezeline before it reaches the internet at all — which is why their published rule, not a retailer's compatibility claim, is the one that decides.

Can I use my own modem with Breezeline?

Yes, with a restriction: the device has to appear on Breezeline's published approved list. In their words: cable yes, fiber no. Support page: "Unless you’re within a Fiber service area or have WiFi Your Way™, you’re welcome to use your own modem." PDF: "Can I purchase a modem instead of leasing one from Breezeline? Yes, but there are a few things for you to consider." Fiber page: "All customers who subscribe to our Fiber Internet service will need to lease a fiber modem from Breezeline. This is to ensure you receive optimum speeds and service."

What DOCSIS version does Breezeline require?

The approved-device table's "DOCSIS version" column lists exactly two values: "3.1 High-Split" (Netgear CM3000 only) and "3.1 Mid-Split" (all other listed modems and gateways). PDF section heading: "Customer Owned Equipment (Approved Devices) - DOCSIS 3.1".

Do Breezeline's requirements change with my speed tier?

The table states max speeds per DOCSIS tier: "3.1 High-Split" (Netgear CM3000) = "2.5 Gbps" download / "500 Mbps" upload; "3.1 Mid-Split" (all other modems, and all listed gateways) = "1 Gbps" download / "200 Mbps" upload. Also: "Depending on the equipment type and model, you may not receive the maximum download and upload speeds or WiFi performance that’s available with your rate plan."

Can I use my own router with Breezeline?

Permitted — the PDF has a dedicated device-type row "Gateway (Modem + WiFi Router)" at DOCSIS "3.1 Mid-Split" listing, verbatim: Arris SBG8300, G34, G36, G54; Netgear CAX30, CAX80, CBR750, C7800; Motorola MG8702. The PDF also explains the distinction: "A WiFi gateway has a built-in WiFi router to connect to wireless devices in your home, whereas a modem/ethernet gateway generally has from one to four ethernet ports... If you choose to use a modem/ethernet gateway you will need to purchase a separate WiFi router."

What does Breezeline not allow?

"Breezeline Voice customers may only use equipment leased from Breezeline." "If you have fiber service from Breezeline, leased equipment is required." WiFi Your Way™ / WiFi+ customers must lease — "The features of Breezeline WiFi+ service are only available when using Breezeline leased equipment" and "Breezeline WiFi+ is exclusively available to internet customers using equipment provided by Breezeline."
